Three persons, Sayed Aslam (8) his Father Sayed Ibrahim and uncle Fhiroze from Nandini layout Bengaluru were the persons saved from misery.
The Sayyed Ibrahim family had come from Bengaluru to visit dargah in Ullal . After that they visited the Mogaveerapatna beach on Sunday morning when Sayed Aslam was trapped by tides in the sea while taking bath. His father and uncle went to save him. But all three were about to be in grave danger of losing lives when the lifeguards who were fishing in the sea nearby jumped into the sea. They saved the trio in a matter of few minutes.
The team of lifeguards included Sampath Amin, Deexith Karkera, Mohan Kotian, Kunal Amin, Niranjan Puthran and Nithin Puthran.
While the group of lifeguards were happy about their achievement of saving lives, they were also pained by the developments which took place in the past week. Members of their team were implicated in a case relating to an incident which happened on May 10 at the beach.
On that day the lifesavers had warned a group of members not to venture into sea. But the members of lifeguards were charged with threatening them.
Sampath Amin, the president of the association speaking to Daijiworld said “We decided to save the lives on humanitarian grounds. Warning the visitors unfortunately takes us to police station as nobody wants to listen to us. It is sad that our members are in jail.”
Other member Guruprasad said “We did it to save the life of a boy. But we will not do it again till our members are released. We will not even cooperate with district administration and police.”
