Dubai, May 17: Nama Tuluveru under the current leadership of Sudhakar Alva held a meeting on Saturday May 16 at 7.30 pm at Quick Bite Restaurant, Muteena-Deira, Dubai. The meeting, attended by most of the executive members, was held to discuss the future programmes and leadership changes for the year 2015.
After successfully completing six years of existence in supporting Tulu language and culture in this part of the world, Nama Tuluveru, for the first time, unanimously elected Deepak S P and S M Ajmal as twin conveners for the year 2015-16 to lead the non-profit organization.
The immediate decision was taken because of Sudhakar Alva's relocation to India and since he is unable to dedicate his full time to the organizational activities. He voluntarily opted and requested the formation of a new committee with the consent of the current committee members in the meeting. While extending his full support to the new committee, he promised his commitment towards Nama Tuluveru and its future activities at all times. He along with other committee members wished the new conveners good luck.
As its very first programme, the new committee has decided to hold Iftar 2015 event on June 25, followed by blood donation campaign during Ramadan.
Nama Tuluveru will also be holding 'Tuluvere Parba 2015' in conjunction with various community organizations on November 6 this year. This time more participants are expected and preparations will be done well in advance to ensure that the programme goes on smoothly.
The new committee with youngsters and ladies among its members is fully prepared to host good programmes with new ideas this year.
The meeting concluded with refreshments and vote of thanks.
