Mumbai, May 17: Deepika Padukone who has recently had her film Piku with Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan released a week ago and is getting very good reviews, has said that she really wanted to work in Zoya Akhtar's soon to be released 'Dil Dhadakne Do'.
The tall, svelte actress seemed bowled over by the trailer of the film and she said, “It is simply wow. If you ask me that this year which film I would love to be a part of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ is one of those films. I really wish that I was a part of that film.”
Back in 2014, Deepika had expressed this very same wish saying that, "I love the script so much that I am ready to work in any capacity on the film, including an assistant director (AD). But I don't know if I can manage that (working as an AD)." She had however also clarified that while she had met Zoya they hadn't really talked about her working in it. Deepika said that Zoya had given her the script to read, just for some feedback and the actress was very much impressed. She said, “It’s a fantastic script. I hope the film has shaped up as well as the script has. I am looking forward to that.”
Her movie Piku on the other hand is going from strength to strength as it garners more footfalls by the day. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, #Piku witnesses PHENOMENAL growth on Sun. Fri 5.32 cr, Sat 8.70 cr, Sun 11.20 cr. Total: ₹ 25.22 cr. India biz. Take a bow, Team #Piku." and before that he had said, #Piku is EXTRAORDINARY in international markets too.
