Los Angeles, May 15 (IANS): Grammy Award-winning singer Sam Smith, who underwent a throat surgery, says he was “high on pain killers” after the operation.
He shared an update on his latest condition via micro-blogging website Twitter, reports aceshowbiz.com.
He tweeted: "Just woken up from op. I'm high on pain killers and listening to Whitney Houston hahahahaha."
In addition to the tweet, the "Stay With Me" hitmaker shared on photo-sharing website Instagram, an image of himself sitting in a wheelchair, with a nurse next to him.
He captioned it: "Flying."
Hours before his latest update on both social media, Smith shared an Instagram selfie of himself in a hospital outfit as he was getting ready for surgery.
The 22-year-old singer captioned the black-and-white photograph that showed him making a peace sign to the camera: "Hospital Selfie".
The singer had to cancel his scheduled performances as his vocal cord haemorrhage was getting worse and he needed to undergo surgery.
The British singer said doctors told him that his voice would be back in six to eight weeks.
