Kasargod: Man claims to be physically challenged, smuggles gold worth Rs 2 crore

Kasargod, May 14: A man who claimed that he was physically challenged and used a wheel chair at the airport was caught with gold worth Rs 2 crore.

Kasargod Bevinje resident Husseinar (42) and Deepali Vijay (38) from Pune are the persons arrested. The incident happened at Karipur airport in Kozhikode.

The duo reached the airport by an Oman Air flight arriving from Muscat on Tuesday afternoon. Deepali Vijay claimed that he was physically challenged and demanded wheel chair service which was provided to him.

Deepali Vijay on wheel chair with the help of Husseinar was coming out happily from the airport without knowing that airport officials were watching them. The officials who did not find any signs in Deepali of being physically challenged interrogated the duo.

Later it was found that the ‘physically challenged ‘ person was carrying gold worth more than Rs 2 Crore in his jacket. They had thought that person on wheel chair would not be checked.

    Its simple. 2 kg in front left pocket, 2 kg in front right pocket, 2 kg in left side pocket, 2 kg in right side pocket. 4 x 2kg = 8kg. Becuase the jacket was too heavy he needed a wheel chair.

    Dear Rakesh,

    We can hear Mr. Nalin Kumar's name during election time only. He dont have the guts to work for Public. His ability is not more than a Taluk Panchayath Member. Above that position like M.L.A or M.P he is unfit. Ask him to learn something from Mr. Pramod Madwaraj Udupi about social works.

    How this couple evaded security check in Muscat? Is it possible to take Gold out of a country in that quantity?
    It's a racket being run by a third party for sure. To save Rs. 2 crore is not easy and with handsome salary may need min. 20 years and who would risk losing hard earned money.
    Custom officials or CBI should try to solve the mystery behind Gold smuggling.

Road accident people are out, criminal record people are out, politically robbing, people are out, next of kin of politician doing dadagiri they are out, then why not these smugglers of gold, what wrong they have done, just cheated the country with people of all types of criminal record. They did not hurt or kill or rape any one. So these smugglers should be out instantly, without any delay like Salu's and Jaya's case.
