London, May 10 (IANS): German champions Bayern Munich's coach Pep Guardiola has reportedly agreed to replace Manuel Pellegrini as English club Manchester City's manager for the upcoming season.
"Urgent - sources beIN SPORTS: Manchester City reached a tentative agreement with Bayern Munich coach Guardiola to train the team for next season," Global sports channel beIN Sports' Arabic account tweeted on Saturday.
Guardiola is contracted to Bayern Munich until next year.
However, Guardiola's position at Bayern has weakened following the Champions League semi-final first leg 0-3 drubbing they suffered at Spanish side FC Barcelona.
Bayern were also eliminated from the German Cup semi-finals in a penalty shootout defeat to Getman club Borussia Dortmund last week.
City coach Pellegrini has been roundly criticised in recent months over the deposed champions' European form and their unsuccessful defence of their English Premier League title.
