Mangaluru, May 1: 'Ekka Saka' Tulu film, produced by Ln Kishore D Shetty under the banner of Lakumi Cine Creations, hit 11 theatres across the twin districts on Friday May 1.
B A Vivek Rai, professor of Kannada language, literature and folkloristics in Mangalore University inaugurated the formal ceremony by lighting the lamp at Jyothi theatre here.
Addressing the gathering, Vivek Rai said, "This is personally a proud moment for me as I was the first to use the phrase 'Ekka Saka' for a song title, and now the same has been used for a Tulu film. Every artiste has worked hard for this film and I hope that 'Ekka Saka' will earn success from the very first day. I am sure that this movie will cross 100 days in theatres."
The movie has released in 11 theatres - Jyothi, Big Cinemas, PVR, Cinepolis in Mangaluru, Kalpana in Udupi, Inox in Manipal, Amarashree in Moodbidri, Radhika theatre in Karkala, Nakshatra in BC Road, Aruna theatre in Puttur and Bharath theatre in Beltangady.
Producer Kishore D Shetty welcomed the guests.
Sonal Monteiro, Hithesh, Prakash Pandeshwar, Chandrahas Shetty, Ashok D K, Jagannath Bala, Prashanth Rai, Kavitha Shasthri, Naveen Shetty, Sitharam, Dr Sanjay, Sharon Monteiro, Mohan Koppala, Umanath Kotian, Aravind Bolar, Suraj Shetty and others were also present on this occaison.
