Bantwal, May 1 : “Mini Vidhana Saudhas in the Taluk centers in the state are being given importance so that all the departments may come under one roof without need for additional travelling for the citizens. A total of 129 mini Vidhana Saudhas are approved in the state and we intend to construct 172 mini Vidhana Saudhas,” said Srinivas Prasad, state revenue minister.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for the mini Vidhana Saudha at the Taluk office premises on Thursday April 30. It is proposed to be built at B C Road at a cost of Rs 10 crore. “The subsidy for the full-fledged building has been increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore. The mini Vidhana Saudha will be constructed within the next 15 months and made available for the service of the citizens”, he said.
“The achievements of the government within two years of its rule have been satisfactory. The government has been sincerely fulfilling the promises made in the election manifesto and 65 percent of them have already been implemented. The work done by the earlier coalition government during the entire duration has been performed by the Siddaramaiah-led government within two years”, he said.
“A well-equipped Taluk stadium in Bantwal has been approved. I will be speaking to the chief minister about release of additional grants in order to provide additional facilities in it. Eight new district level complexes are proposed in the state. A complex will be built in Mangaluru at a cost of Rs 41 crore,” he said.
District-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, in his presidential address, said that 14,000 applications had been received in Bantwal alone under the 94C project. “The title deeds will be issued after scrutiny. The construction of Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan is facing problems oflack of land. The problem will be solved soon and construction work will be taken up.”
President of Municipal council Vasanthi C, vice-president Yasmeen, Planning Authority president Pius Rodrigues, Taluk panchayat president Yashwanth Deraje, Zilla Panchayat member Chandraprakash Shetty, Mamatha Gatti, M S Mohammed, deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim, taluk panchayat social standing committee president Ida Suresh, member Madhava Mave, Congress leader B H Khader, PWD superintending engineer Kantaraj, executive engineer A G Dharmaraj, and Bantwal assistant executive engineer Umesh Bhat were on the dais.
