Beltangady, Apr 28: A youth was arrested on Monday April 27 for allegedly 'kidnapping' a girl, 'raping' and making her pregnant.
The accused is Jagadish (23), a resident of Anila in Kuvettu village. He had been missing for sometime, about which a separate complaint had been filed in Beltangady police station.

After the girl became pregnant, the couple on April 13 rode to Hunsur by bike, where they stayed in Jagadish's elder brother's house.
The police have now booked Jagadish under POCSO Act.
Married woman sexually harassed
In another case, a youth was booked for allegedly sexually harassing a married woman.
The woman who works for a power generation unit has accused Shibu Balan of sexually harassing her, and two others - Shibu Joseph and Swaminathan for abetting the crime.
The woman separated from her husband about eight years ago.
In the complaint, it is alleged that when she was sweeping the floor the power generation unit's office on April 16, Balan forced himself upon her. He reportedly promised to marry her and coaxed her to have sex with her, and when she refused, he tried to drag her into a nearby forest, it is alleged.
Joseph and Swaminathan who are employees at the same place as the woman, reportedly supported Balam and helped him abscond, states the complaint filed by the woman.
