Bantwal, Apr 20: 'Yasoma Wedding Saree Emporium', a state-of-the-art store for readymade garments and sarees by Malaika Group of Companies was inaugurated at BC Road on Sunday April 19.
The store was was inaugurated by Best Education Institution chairman Dhanabhagya Ramanath Rai.
Addressing the gathering, Rai said, "This is the first top-end textile store launched in Bantwal city limits and symbolises the progress this region is making. Apart from providing employment, this store has also contributed towards the rural development. This organization has given employment to women and enabled them to prosper."
Parish priest of Infant Jesus Church, Modankap Fr Maxim L Noronha lit the ceremonial lamp and blessed the premises. Fr Hillary Lobo led the prayer. Bantwal town municipal president Vasanthi Chandappa became the first customer of the store and was given a free saree.
In the the inaugural function Mohammed Nadarabettu, member of town muncipal was the chief guest. Rajesh M Rodrigues, member of town muncipal, Sanjeeva M Shetty, building owner and Udaya Kumar Rai were the guests of honour.
P A Raheem, Jagadeesh Shenava, advocate, Sharan Pumpwell, Stany Alvares, Chandrashekara Poojari, advocate and others were present. Building owners Sanjeeva S Shetty and Jayamti Shetty were falicitated at the occasion .
Malaika Group chairman and CEO Gilbert Baptist welcomed the gathering. Malaika Group director Marcelina G Baptist gave a floral welcome to all the dignitaries. Kevin D'souza Loretto compered the programme. Cyril Crasta proposed the vote of thanks.
