They allegedly had, in connivance with some others, robbed Muhammed Sharin (29) from Iddya Guddekopla Suratkal on the afternoon of December 23, when he was carrying about Rs 1.5 lac in cash and 30 sovereigns of gold ornaments for being delivered to the super bazaar being run by the uncle of K M Nahim from Bondel at the telephonic request of the latter, who happens to be his neighbour.
When Sharin was moving with a plastic bag containing cash and ornaments, which were delivered to him at the super market at Chokkabettu, two unideantified persons who came in a Pulsar motor bike had blocked his vehicle near the new over-bridge, flashed lethal weapons, and escaped after snatching away the plastic bag containing cash and ornaments. The arrested accused have been remanded to judicial custody, and the policemen have sought their police custody to gather more details. The policemen said that exact turn of events will be disclosed after the arrest of the main accused.
