Mangaluru, Mar 19: Former union minister and Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary on Thursday March 19 lambasted the state government for not ordering CBI probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi should intervene in the issue.
Addressing a press meet at the district Congress office here, he said, "Sonia Gandhi should intervene in this matter. What are Digvijay Singh and KPCC president Parameshwa doing? Though the parents, public and media are demanding CBI probe, the state government is not responding.
"Do you (state government) want to finish off the Congress party in Karnataka? If the state government does not hand over the case to the CBI, the Congress will meet face a situation worse than the recent Delhi elections," he warned.
Poojary also slammed Bengaluru police commissioner M N Reddi and said that his statement to the media terming the death as 'suicide' even before the post-mortem gave 'rise to suspicion'.

He also asked the CM to watch television to understand the trauma of the mother who sheds tears for her dead son. "The CM should do what people of the state wish," he added.
"I have informed MLC V S Ugrappa to ask CM to hand over this case to the CBI," he informed.
Poojary said the CM need not fear that CBI would fix him in this case, "Poojary will stand with you (CM). People will support you. Hand over the case to the CBI and let the actual truth come to light and culprits go behind bars."
When reporters asked if he had no faith in the CID which is currently probing the case, he said, "People should have faith, but all are demanding CBI probe."
