Mumbai, Mar 18: Papresh Rawal who has a slew comedic roles in his repertoire, is all set to once again make theatres echo with the laughter of his audiences with his next movie 'Dharam Sankat Mein'. A movie that tells of the trials and tribulations faced by an ordinary man who one day realises he was born in a different religion to the one he was brought up in.
Paresh Rawal is seen going about his life just as any other Hindu man of his age, with his wife and son, only to have it all get upturned when he realises he was adopted and that his birth parents were Muslims. Setting off on a journey to find his biological family and to discover his religion by birth, he is simultaneously caught up in the trap of being a devout Hindu for the sake of his children. His dual life stems from his deep fear that his children might be ostracised from society because of his origins and that as a consequence they may also not find appropriate life partners.
An accomplished comedian and veteran actor, 64 year old Rawal, is seen caught up in the intricacies of two religions and thereby stuck between the teachings of Naseeruddin Shah and Anu Kapoor. Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of a self appointed pompous Godman called Neelanand Baba who is the founder and religious head of Neel Dharma - a fictitious religion. Anu Kapoor plays Nawab Mehmood Nazeem Ali Shah Khan Bahadur who attempts to teach Dharam Pal (Paresh Rawal) al about the religion of his biological family.
All set to release on the 10th of April, the movie is sure on to be on everyone's must watch list especially given that it has 3 National Film Awards as well as Filmfare Awardees.
