Kuwait, Mar 18: Agnesian Alumnae elected office bearers for the 2015-2017 term during its annual general body meeting.

The Agnesian Alumnae Kuwait (AAK) recently held its 10th annual general body meeting at the Royal Terrace Restaurant, Salmiya, Kuwait. The moderator for the proceedings was the former President Reema D’Souza.

The meeting started with prayers by liturgical coordinator Merlyn D’Mello which was followed by singing of the college anthem 'God is our strength.'

As the existing committee completed its two year term, the main agenda of the meeting was electing a new committee for the term 2015-2017. Diany Coutinho, founder and ex-President of AAK, was once again unanimously elected as the President and Shanthi Fernandes was elected as the Vice-President.

During her opening speech, President Diany put forward a suggestion which was agreed to by the committee that apart from supporting education to deserving students of the Alma Mater, it would be meaningful to also give financial aid to students who would like to appear for administrative and competitive exams like IAS, IPS etc. as this would help in representing the community in government offices which would greatly benefit the society at large in the long run.

The annual report was then read out by General Secretary Jyothi Colaco and the financial report for 2013-2015 was presented by Treasurer Shanthi Fernandes. Interesting games were conducted by Bonita D’Silva and Reema D’Souza.

The AGM was well attended by many enthusiastic members who pledged to carry forward the AAK flag to greater heights in the coming years.

This being the decennial year for AAK, the committee has planned events and many other activities for all registered members.
