Mangaluru: J R Lobo meets CM, seeks action on kidnap of nun, end to moral policing

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 17: J R lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South constituency, along with Denis D’Silva, state convener, International Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations (IFKCA) on Tuesday March 17 met chief minister Siddaramaiah, seeking action against miscreants who allegedly kidnapped and manhandled a Christian nun in the city.

Besides, the MLA also informed the chief minister on the rise in moral policing in the city.

"There is a sense of insecurity among the general public, particularly among the minorities, after a series of incidents involving moral policing and communal clashes in coastal Karnataka. A large number of students come to the city for studies and their parents are anxious about the rise in anti-social elements," he told the chief minister.

The MLA asked chief minister to look into the issue and enthuse confidence among the public.

In reply, the chief minister promised to discuss the matter with the home minister and the police officers. "There is no reason for the public to feel insecure. The police are instructed to take action against those indulging in any anti-social activities," the CM told the MLA and assured special consideration to the district in terms of law and order.

Meanwhile, Lobo also thanked the CM for the arrest of the culprit involved in damaging the shrine at Panir.

It does not matter whether we are AAP\JDS\Congress or BJP. What we need is peace around in Karnataka. That is what we have to strive for.

And for this kidnapping story, we are hearing only one version, that is of the nun.
In the afternoon, a nun gets down from a bus, immediately she is pushed into a rickshaw (No doors, its open) and kidnapped( towards Nanthoor!) and NO ONE NOTICES!

She jumps out of the auto near Nanthoor junction, even then no one notices. One passer by helps her later.
