Mangaluru, Mar 13: In yet another case of its kind, the officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Friday March 13 arrested a passenger for concealing gold in his rectum.

The accused passenger, identified as Deepak Nachaldas Wadhwa, aged about 43 years, is a resident of Ulhasnagar, Thane, Maharashtra.

The officers of customs seized two ten-tola gold bars and two rectangular gold objects totally weighing 472.520 grams, valued Rs 12,35,640. The officers found the gold bars and objects concealed in the passenger's rectum.

We see this kind of problem (gold, Jafran, etc. smuggling in India only. No doubt this is due to the laws our Govt makes. Why don't we hear of these kind of sensational news almost on every day in other countries. Why people don't take gold from India to dubai. Why the rate in india for gold is more in india than gulf. Let us ponder over this and if we feel so let us pressurize the Modi to take steps to remove this problem forever.

Recent someone defended NRIs saying that Indians respect the law of the land. If you have been/lived abroad you might have noticed that everywhere custom officials will be extra careful once they found that you are holding Indian passport. That's the reputation we have as Indians when we travel abroad.

    AD,

Many, if not all of us would take a foreign passport if given chance. Why are you sitting on a high horse and pretending like you yourself would`nt jump in getting a foreign passport if opportunity arises.
