Dubai, Mar 8: A Konkani legend who conquered the hearts and minds of not only Mangaloreans but the entire gamut of Konkani-speaking communities, the late Wilfy Gerald Rebimbus, stayed ahead of all the composers and lyricists of his time. Along with his family, the late Wilfy worked relentlessly to spread devotional, noble and heartwarming messages through music.
None of us can deny his melodious presence in the hearts of all the Mangaloreans, who are spread across the Globe. His unique compositions, which were also sung by him, his highly devoted wife, Meena Rebimbus, his family members, and by his loyal troupe, have contributed immensely to his everlasting masterpieces. Even after his sad demise, one can never forget the sentiments and songs rich in meaning, which will be there to stay for generations to come.
A voice coach, choral director and qualified musician, Jossie Moras, now based in Dubai being a fan of Late Wilfy, began to wonder how he could pay tribute to this legendary singer on his fifth death Anniversary. An ideal thought that came to his mind was to harmonize some of the prominent songs composed by the late Wilfy and re-arrange them for choral singing.
One of the senior members of Melodia Voice Studio Dubai, Lancy Madtha, presented this idea of paying tribute to Wilfy in a very special way, to Meena Rebimbus and family back home, and the family was overwhelmed at the noble thought by Wlfy's fans in Dubai.
