M'luru: Ibrahim Kodijal takes charge as chairman of MUDA

Mangaluru, Mar 6:Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee interim president, Ibrahim Kodijal took charge as the chairman of Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) here on Friday March 6 at MUDA office.

After taking charge as MUDA, Ibrahim Kodijal said, “I will discharge my duties with responsibility and act without any discrimination. I will address all the problems concerning people and work for the development of the city".

“This post is not only mine, but it is also that of Congress party workers”, he further said.

On the occasion, Kodijal recollected his 45 years of experience as Congress party worker and leader and said, “I joined the party when I was student in 1969. I worked as Konaje grampanchayath president for ten years, Ullal block vice president for five years, Ullal block president for ten years, Dakshina Kannada secretary for five years, district vice president for ten years and interim president for two years”.

He called on the MUDA commissioner and staffs to work for the progress of the city.

Stating that MUDA president post was vacant for two years, MLA JR Lobo said, “Mangalore City is the second fastest growing city. Hence several development programmes should be implemented. Political experience of Kodijal will make him introduce various programmes in city. Good development work will take place during Ibrahim Kodija's tenure”.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Mahabala Marla said, “People are facing the single site problems at present. MUDA president should solve this problem after discussing with government and representatives”.

MLC Ivan D'Souza and Moideen Bawa and district in charge minister B Ramanath Rai were present on the occasion.
