Mangaluru, Feb 18: A one-day inter-collegiate workshop on soft skills “DISCOVER YOURSELF, SHAPE YOUR LIFE” was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Government First Grade College, Mangalore, Carstreet on February 16 for the final year students of different government colleges.
The Principal of St. Aloysius evening college, Mangalore, Prof. Manohar Serrao inaugurated the workshop. In his Key Note Address he advised the students to sharpen their soft skills and prepare themselves for the needs of the corporate world. In his address he said that only academic distinction does not gain a good job. It must be accompanied by a wide array of soft skills which will help the students to stand apart from others. Workshops of this kind will throw light on the importance of soft skills and the techniques to develop the same.
Principal of the college, Prof. Radhakrishna presided over the programme. NAAC Co-ordinator Prof. Appu, IQAC Co-ordinator Prof. Therese Pereira and Student Welfare Officer Prof. Mahesh K B were present at the function. Student Union President Dinakar welcomed the gathering, the Secretary of the Student Union proposed the vote of thanks. Deekshitha, the Commerce Secretary compeered the programme.
A Rodrix, Trainer, iBEE English Training Institute and Malini Hebbar, Associate Professor in English, St. Agnes College, Mangalore were the resource persons who conducted the sessions for the day.
