Mangaluru, Feb 18: Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, the district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president has condemned the silence of elected representatives on the delay of renovation work of town hall in city.
Kalkura has also demanded that an alternative place within 15 days should be provided by Mangalore City Corporation till town hall is renovated,
In a meeting convened by Town Hall User’s Forum, Kalkuara said “Only coastal twin districts do not have facilities like Rangamandira and Gadibhavana in the state. Still town hall came as a blessing. But going by the present situation, we do not think it is going to help us in any way,”
“Town hall should not be a business venture. It should not be given to private parties for maintenance. First come first basis policy should be employed while bookings are taken.” Kalkura demanded.
Town hall which should have been ready with renovations by now as per promises, is still being renovated. Nobody knows when the hall will become ready for shows.
