Mangaluru, Feb 17: It was a fashion show of a unique kind, as young-at-heart citizens aged above 50 years walked the ramp and impressed all with their talents. The occasion was 'Retro to Metro' a colourful event organized by The Forum Fiza Mall in association with Hisrar Events and Celebrations on Sunday February 15, an event that was full of fun and fiesta.

The men and women, dressed elegantly, walked the ramp at the mall to raise funds for Vishwas Trust, an old age home at Valencia.

The event was promoted and publicized by event management company Hisrar Events and Celebrations by organizing a flash mob at the Forum Fiza Mall on February 8, where they attracted many and also raised the donations for the good cause.

The ramp walk was choreographed by professional choreographers Ameetha and Arya and all the performers were given practice two days prior to the show.

Hisrar Events and Celebrations also arranged professional hairstylist and make-up-aritste to add more glamour to the show.

The Hisrar Events management dance team and students of St Agnes College presented a welcome dance to the beats of Retro Bollywood mashup songs and kick-started the event with a power-packed performance.

It was then time for the much-awaited extravaganza, when elders shattered their stereotypical image and walked the ramp with confidence and elan, with a spirit that would put youngsters to shame.

There were also other competitions for the senior citizens like mono-acting, singing and dance which added more colour to the event.

A donation box was placed, where the audience poured in their contributions generously.

Dr Olinda Pereira, founder director of Vishwas Trust and Prof Maria Phyllis D’Costa of UXCEL Mangaluru were the chief guests of the programme.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Hisrar Events and Celebrations CMD and founder VJ Hisrar Tallani said, "We are really blessed. The senior citizens came and congratulated and blessed all of us, they said it was their first stage programme after their retirement. They are also intrested in participating in many more events if we organize, they have given thier contact numbers. This gives us more inspiration to organize more events in the coming days."

Lions Club district 317 was the sponser of the programme and KMC was the health partner.
