Los Angeles, Feb 16 (IANS): Look bold like Hollywood stars in striking lip shades.
Here's how, reports peoplestylewatch.com:
* Anne Hathaway's berry lips: Chanel make-up artist Kate Lee chose the brand's Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in "Etienne", a deep rose/berry blend for one of the actress's outings.
"Annie and I used the colour last year and she really loved it, so we chose it as the main feature of her all-white look," said Lee.
"The formula works equally as well as a stain as it does a rich full lip," she added.
* Rosamund Pike's matte mauve: She easily easily pulled off a vivid lip with a smoky eye. The secret? Avoiding harsh lines, says her make-up artist Mélanie Inglessis.
"Define your lips with the same colour pencil as the lipstick and gently fill the inside too. Then apply the colour evenly on the lip but stay away from the edges, so it doesn't bleed," she said.
"To finish off the edges, pout, then pat your lipstick with your ring finger to the edge of your mouth for a softer look."
On the eyes, use a shimmery cream formula in a non-harsh shade (like her grey), and blend.
* Elizabeth Banks' coral shade: "I love Elizabeth with a strong brow and a strong lip; it's cool and modern," said the actress's make-up artist Fiona Stiles.
"I mixed an orange and a bright pink together for an interesting electric coral colour that is super vibrant - and hard to find in any tube. Try a swipe of one on the top lip and a swipe of the other on the bottom lip and press your lips together to mix them."
* Kate Bosworth's classic red: There's no better time to channel Old Hollywood than awards season. To complement her waves, make-up artist Hung Vanngo chose a vintage red. But he added a modern twist: "I skipped the lipliner to keep the outline of her lips soft and natural looking."
