Mangaluru, Feb 16: Father Muller Medical College and National Institute of Technology- Karnataka (NITK), Suratkal signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 10 to promote research and foster mutual cooperation among departments of both institutions.
The primary objectives are to develop scientific and health related benefits for the local community. The MoU seeks to tap synergies among the city’s premier engineering and medical institutions and collaborate in building cutting edge, cost effective health tools.
The first project would aim at developing devices for early identification of autism and would be collaboration between the department of Computer Science and the department of Pediatrics.
The agreement was signed by Dr Swapan Bhattacharya, director and Dr M B Saidutta, dean-alumni affairs and Institutional Relations for National Institute of Technology- Karnataka, Suratkal.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director of Father Muller Institutions and Dr Jaya Prakash Alva, dean, signed on behalf of Father Muller Medical College.
