Alzheimer's Association Organizes 'talk' at St Aloysius Institute

Mangaluru, February 16: Jerardin D'souza, founder-director, Mangalore Alzheimer's Association-MAA-, organized a brilliant talk on 'business-leadership, strategy and marketing-a world view' by Uday Kumar, director, British Petroleum BP, Greater China top five of the Fortune 500 companies.




















Uday Kumar spoke to a packed audience on business core values, the strategy of being honest in ones dealings. "If someone will bribe me for taking a favorable decision, I will have the courage to refuse it," stressing the point that one should have the courage of his convictions in business dealings and laid emphasis on safety, with, "Wear your seat belts and hold the railings when using the stairs."

He shared information on various topics, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the falling oil prices is due to politics, he said. The scope for MBA in the multinational outfits. The culture of China and the skill of doing business in the secretive Chinese atmosphere. He touched on all the insightful topics.

The talk was received with great enthusiasm by the budding MBA students. After an hour of brilliant presentation by Uday Kumar, the students interacted with varied questions for another hour.

He appreciated the quality of questions from the fully packed auditorium. "My pitfall, if I could call it that, comes from the fact that I couldn't recruit or train many women in the sales field, as the women don't want to venture much into the oil sales field," said Uday Kumar, when asked of his pitfalls in an illustrious career.

"I felt small when two towering personalities entered my chamber, but they put me at ease at once, listening to Uday Kumar was truly overwhelming," said Fr Pradeep Sequiera, Administrator, AIMIT.

Jerardin D'souza urged all present to support MAA-Mangalore Alzheimer's Association, and as a start to like the MAA page on Facebook.

Sumitha Achar, the student coordinator encouraged the students to participate in the career enhancing talk.

Jerardin D'souza said, "Experience is the teacher that gives the test first and lesson afterwards. Here we have a personality who has both lessons and tests to share" and introduced dear friend and fellow St Aloysius class mate Uday Kumar to the MBA students.

Rowena Wright , dean of AIMIT was proactive in assembling the students.

Fr Denzil Lobo, rector, though abroad, was instrumental in organizing this educative talk.

The talk was very useful, and the students had questions over flowing, which were answered with rare insight by Uday Kumar. Questions ranging from, oil spill, the falling oil prices, the scope for women in oil Industry, to the secrecy of business practices in China and the alternate fuels taking over. A truly enlightening talk session.

Fr Pradeep Sequeira, administrator, AIMIT, honored both the former students of St Aloysius College Uday Kumar and Jerardin D'souza.

The brilliant talk ended with the two dignitaries being honored with mementos and the students giving a thunderous applause.

Your Report will go a Long way in telling the World of Two Students, coming back to their School & Sharing their knowledge & Love with their younger brothers. Uday spoke professionally, yet lovingly. I did my share by organizing the TALK, when Uday was in China.I wanted him to tell these MBA boys, what China & Top Management is.I also created awareness about Alzheimer's Disease [AD] among the Students.We both are grateful for the chance to be of use.Thank You Daijiworld, for publishing, with your reach worldwide , more Alumni should feel like doing their bit for their College.
