He was delivering the inaugural address at the State Level Conference 2015 for medical technographers organized by Karnataka Medical Radiographers and Allied Technologists Association (KMR & ATA) in association with Father Muller Medical College on Saturday, February 7,2015 at Decennial Auditorium of Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru.
Radiology has made rapid strides in recent years. From being in the periphery of diagnostics during the days of conventional x-ray, today it occupies centre stage, thanks to the advent of high end technologies which have made accurate diagnosis possible. The two-day conference comprises of a series of technical presentations by reputed professionals to update the delegates about the latest advances in the field. About 400 delegates from all over Karnataka have registered for the conference.
The guest of honour Dr Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent of KMC Hospitals, Mangaluru, observed that medical technologists are in the first line of defense. “Patient safety, empathy and quality control should be the hallmarks of your professional commitment,” he said.
In his presidential address, Fr Richard Coelho, Administrator of Father Medical College Hospital said making treatment affordable to the common man is the biggest challenge faced by all hospitals today.
Fr Rudolph Ravi D’souza, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College released the conference souvenir.
Sri Nityananda H, President of KMR and ATA, Mangaluru welcomed the gathering. Conference Chairman, Dr Suresh H.B., Professor and Head of the Department of Radiology, Father Muller Medical College gave the introductory address.
Executive Member Satyanarayana B of Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru proposed the Vote of Thanks. Dr Lenon J D’souza and Dr Romina G D’souza were the Masters of Ceremonies.
