Mumbai, Feb 5 (IANS): At a time when the success graph of a movie depends on whether it enters the Rs.100 crore club, actor Varun Dhawan says he wants people to appreciate "Badlapur" for its cinematic values, rather than focus on the business it generates.
"Badlapur is a film I have not done for money and for me the film will work only if the public appreciates what we have done cinematically," the actor tweeted.
Son of filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun took to micro-blogging site Twitter to clear the air about an article, in which he says, he has been misquoted.
With just three films in his kitty -- "Student Of The Year", "Main Tera Hero" and "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania", Varun will be seen in a different avatar in Sriram Raghavan's dark, intense revenge drama.
"Badlapur", which is all set for release Feb 20, also stars Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Vinay Pathak in key roles.
