Udupi, Feb 2: “Arts is not the property of a person or an organization. It is a power that can be acquired by determination and hard work”, said international artiste Dr Anish Pradhan.
He was speaking after launching of Kala Coast Kalagrama for Indian and traditional music fusion with international music at Brahmavar Karje on Saturday, January 31.
“Art is an education that goes beyond restrictions and obstacles. Let it cover different areas and spread its palate and aroma in society”, he said.
Padmashree Shubha Mudgal who spoke after inaugurating Kala Coast Music Festival-2015 wished that Kala coast may be the oasis for art lovers. “Let the talents from city culture blossom in this quiet atmosphere”, she said.
Kala coast convener T Ranga Pai gave a key note address and said that children should be inspired in the right time and in the right direction. “One can become an expert artiste by encouragement. In this direction if the Kala grama is put to proper use, our attempt will be satisfying”.
Kala coast music festival director Sudheer Nayak, Bharathi Nayak, convener Raghavendra Mallya, Vaidappa Manjunatha Padiyar and others were present. Uday Mallya welcomed and Mangala Kadilkar compered the programme.
About Kalagrama:
Kalagrama consists of several buildings where musicians and artistes can stay and indulge in art activities. Studio apartment, Gurukula model music and Lalitha Kala residential school are the main parts of Kala coast Kala grama. It has an arts library and gallery that is meant to facilitate art lovers and those who are eager to study art. It will give shelter to ground platform and amphitheatre arts exhibitions. Special music and fine arts exhibitions will be held in Kalagrama. State and national level artistes will be participating in the art festival.
