Mangaluru, Jan 28: Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute in association with Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association launched free health check-up programme for working journalists in Mangalore Press Club on Wednessday January 28.
Mayor Mahabala Marla symbolically inaugurated the programme by unveiling the banner of the programme. Speaking on the occasion Mahabala Marla said "Journalists work without expectation and inform about the functioning of Legislature, Executive and Judiciary to the people for a better society. Only when our minds and souls are free from stress, we work and serve the society in a better way. If journalists have good health, they can work and provide more information to the people."
He also urged the journalists and their family members to utilize this free health check-up programme.
Yusuf Kumble, Managing Director of Indiana Hospital said "Prevention of disease is better than cure. In contemporary scenario many youths in their young age are suffering from chronic diseases due to stress in their work. Hence to prevent the disease, health check-up is essential and this time we decided to provide free health check-up for
journalists. All journalists and family should utilize this opportunity."
Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Association president Jaganath Shetty Bala, Press Club president Ramakrishna and others were present on this occasion.
