Mangaluru, Jan 21: A Fancy fete will be held at Urwa Immaculate Conception Church on January 24 and 25. This was revealed at a press conference held at Mangaluru on January 21.
Addresing the press meet Fr Victor D'mello said "Immaculate Conception church is celebrating post centenary golden jubilee of the church in the year 2014-15. This is third oldest church in Mangaluru. God has showered uncountable blessing on our church through Mother Mary.Acknowledging his blessings and favours is our main motive.We started the Jubilee year on 30 march 2014 with the slogan 'Athmik tharan jeeval javya sambandh boro karya' (Let us prosper spiritually and develop relationships). Closing ceremony will be held on May 1, 2015.
"We have undertaken many programmes in order to achieve our objectives.By dedicating each month to the members of different churches and by praying for them, we have done the good deeds. Every day Adoration of holy sacrament is held. Different cultural and sports competitions were organized. 2 December 2014 was celebrated as Foundation Day for all the three institutions which are managed by our church." Fr D'Mello added.
"As another part of celebration this Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25, we have organized Fancy Fete 2015. Band, Request Songs, Cultural Programme, Housie-Housie, American Auction, Games Stalls, Vegeterian and Non Vegeterian food stalls will be part of this Fancy Fete.Many builders have already taken the Stall. Approximately 20000 to 30000 people are expected to visit this fete. At the same time from Karavali chitra kala chavadi, Painting Exhibition Demonstration and Installation will be held at our Centenary hall. Inauguration will be done on Friday at 5.30 pm and fete will be inaugurated on Saturday 3.30 pm and will end at 9.30 pm. on Saturday. Fete programme will continue on Sunday from 9.30 am to 9.30 pm." Fr D'Mello explained.
Vincent Periera, Ganesh Somayaji, Santhosh Andrade, Rajendra ketike were present at the press meet.
