Bhatkal, Jan 20 (DHNS): Sleuths of Bengaluru police’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) arrived here on Monday with the four terror suspects they had arrested recently in tow. They broke open the door lock of at least one suspect’s home and searched it.
The suspects were taken to different parts of Bhatkal and their homes searched but no explosive or any other incriminating evidence was recovered.
The CCB team was led by H M Omkaraiah, ACP (Organised Crime Wing). The Bhatkal police, led by CPI Prashant Naik, too interrogated the suspects. The sleuths broke open the door lock of homoeopathy doctor Syed Afaque Lanka’s home in the Azad Nagar locality. The sleuths searched the house and the nearby areas.
The team also went to the house of Abdus Suboor, an MBA student, at Madina Colony on Tenginagundi Road. Suboor was, however, made to sit in the police vehicle during the exercise.
The police also searched the homes of Riyaz Ahmad Sayeedi and Saddam Hussain. Sayeedi was picked up at the Mangalore International Airport when he was about to fly out to Dubai. The sleuths searched the home of his relative on Shaukat Ali Road. Hussain is a scrap merchant from the Jali Road locality.
The suspects were taken to the Tenginagundi Bunder locality and the surrounding areas. The police also questioned the family members of Afeef Mota, who is believed to have been associated with the suspects, at their Bunder Road home.
