Creations from Bangalore Fashion Week to be sold online


New Delhi, Jan 19 (IANS): Designs which will be showcased at the forthcoming 12th edition of Bangalore Fashion Week (BFW) will be made available on online marketplace Snapdeal.

The fashion event, scheduled Jan 22-25, is themed 'Summer Online 2015' and will see both renowned and upcoming designers showcasing their exclusive lines for online sales, read a statement.

The participating designers will showcase their collections through Snapdeal's online initiative 'The Designer Studio'.

The online portal will also present an exclusive collection of saris at a special fashion show -- 'Versatile 6 Yards'. This fashion show will see participation from popular socialites and leading models.

The event will also be streamed live on the website through a live event blog accessible on the portal.

"We launched 'The Designer Studio' in October 2014 and have seen a tremendous response from customers towards this initiative. We already have leading designers on board, including Manish Arora and Malini Ramani.

"With this collaboration, we are looking to strengthen our offering under 'the Designer Studio' and further enrich the customer experience. We want to give consumers more reasons and choices to celebrate fashion," Amit Maheshwari, vice president (Fashion), Snapdeal, said in a statement.
