Mangaluru, Jan 17: St Aloysius College Alumni/ae Association (SACAA), Mangaluru organized the annual get-together of old students recently at St Aloysius High School ground.
Winston D’Souza, convener welcomed the gathering. A minute's silence was observed as a mark of respect for the late Neil J D’Souza who passed away on November 17, 2014. He was secretary of SACAA for the period from the year 2000 to 2002.
Dr Richard Gonsalves, president welcomed the gathering. Fr Denzil Lobo, rector of the St Aloysius Institution and patron of SACAA addressed the audience and explained a progress of the St Aloysius College institution during the last one year and proposed projects through Power point presentation. Felix F D’Silva, Secretary, Michael D’Souza immediate past President, Peter Oswald Rodrigues Treasurer and Naveen Mascarenhas Joint Secretary were also present.
The book "Materials Management and Entrepreneurship" written by Prof Edmund Frank, former president of SACAA and dean of PGDBM was released by the rector on the occasion.
Archibald Menezes, vice-president of SACAA proposed the vote of thanks. He thanked all sponsors for their generous donation and gifts.
Around 650 members attended the function. There were several games and spot games for Aloysians present and gifts were given to the winners.
Two skits written and directed by Alwyn Pinto of Dubai were presented during the programme.
'Rhythm' band of St Aloysius College students was in attendance with their enchanting melodies and Baila dance in which many participated.
The programme concluded with dinner.
