Mangaluru, Jan 14: The Bunder police in Mangaluru have arrested one person in relation to a theft from a garment shop. The prime suspect has fled to a foreign country and police are in the look out for another suspect.
The arrested person is Nawaz Kudroli.
As per details, the theft took place at Sagar dressers situated at Tokyo market. The theft was done on a daily basis for the past three years. Adil (21) who had been working at Sagar dressers during this period, is believed to be the prime conspirator in this case. Nawaz Kudroli owned the shop named Marina fashions in the same building as Sagar dressers.
Adil had a duplicate key for the rear door of the shop Sagar dressers. Adil who would turn up early for work, stole the items from the shop using the duplicate key and would supply to Nawaz Kudroli. He with the help of a person Safwan would sell the stolen items to different shops in the district through line sales.
Recently Adil had kept a bundle of stolen cloths near the generator of the building. The watchman of the building who saw the same with the address of Sagar dressers on it, informed the owner of the shop. When the owner checked his stocks in their shop, he discovered the theft.
When the initial case was filed on the theft at Bunder police station, Adil fled to a foreign country. The police who arrested Nawaz Kudroli seized goods worth Rs 1 lac from his shop. They also seized goods worth Rs 50,000 from Safwan's house. Safwan has been absconding. Kamruddin , the owner of Sagar dressers had complained to the police. The value of the stolen stock is estimated at Rs 40 lacs.
