Mangaluru, Jan 14: Countdown has begun for the seventh Lancy Nite which will be held on Sunday, January 18 at St Agnes Special School open grounds, Bendore here at 6.30 pm.
Konkani music lovers of Mangaluru region are in for a memorable evening with 'Sangeeth Ras' Lancy Noronha and his entire troupe once again set to rock the stage.
The nite is organized by Alfred Bennis Creations and Hope Charitable Trust Mangaluru. The organizers have revealed that the proceeds from the nite will go for the education of needy children.
Fr Joachim Fernandes, the parish priest of St Ann's church, Kelrai will be president of the function. Elias Sanctis, Joseph Mathias, Eric Ozario and Luvi J Pinto will be chief guests.
'Konkan Kala Sree' Claude D'Souza Bendur, Joseph Mathias, Goldin Bendur, Preema D'Souza, Dr Prashanth, Joshel D'Souza, Anita D’Souza, Cresilla Rodrigues, Monica Valder, Melric Monteiro, will render their melodious voices during the show. As per the statement by the organizers, a variety of Konkani, Tulu and Kannada songs, which are new ,will be performed during the Nite.
Adding zest and vibe to the event with foot-tapping tunes will be Vijay Noronha, younger brother of Lancy Noronha Bellore-Vamanjoor, the famous music director. The Nite promises to be fun and groovy with laughs and tickling humour by 'Me-Mo-Ri' and team. (Mellu, Moras and Richie).Revival Dancers will entertain with their dance show.

About Lancy Noronha
Known for his melodious Konkani songs and hymns, Lancy has rendered six successful musical shows in the past. He has also released CDs in the UAE and India.
As a singer, Lancy Noronha has been a popular name since his childhood days in his native parish of Bellore and then in Valencia parish. Having won many accolades since then, Lancy has rendered his mellowed voice to various musical nites such as ‘Talo Umalo Nite’, ‘Raymond Nite’, ‘George Fernandes Nite’, ‘Bantwal Varadovar Nite’ etc. Being a member of the famous ‘Brother’s Beat Group’, Mangaluru, he has provided great musical entertainment with them in India. Moving to the UAE further established Lancy in the Middle East, with his participation in musical events of various organizations and associations like Daiji Rang Mandir, Ferarites, Konkan Yuva, Katapady Konkans, Udyavarites, Omzoorche Dive, and several others.
In 2007, Lancy formed a musical group ‘Shylan’ to provide a platform for young and amateur singers which showed his true consideration to promote other talents of Konkani community in the UAE. The turning point was the release of Lancy’s Konkani hymnal CD, ‘Mori Mai’ at St Mary’s Church, Dubai in 2007 which was exclusively composed by him went on to become very popular. It didn’t stop there - in 2011, ‘Moga Sagor’ was released, which was also as successful as the first album.
This is Lancy Noronha's seventh musical nite. Due to work related pressures, he took some years to reach here. "Now I will not stop. I will be faster," says Lancy with enthusiasm. Konkani music lovers definitely want more from him.
