Mangaluru, Jan 5: Former union minister B Janardhana Poojary slammed speaker Kagodu Thimmappa for his recent attacks on functioning of the state government and said that "Kagodu Thimmappa is waging war against the state government. Congress party has given him the position of speaker. Speaker should be unbiased and work within limits of constitutional frame.There is an opposition party when government goes wrong and there is chief minister and other ministers to answer the questions raised by the opposition,"

He was addressing the press meet at district Congress office here on Monday, January 5.

Poojary claimed that the speaker is curbing the rights of opposition and doing the job of opposition leader Jagadish Shettar. Poojary also questioned Kagodu Thimmapa "Who asked you to carry out the job of opposition? What is your intention? Don't you want the government to function?"

Defending the health minister Poojary said "Even outside Vidhasabha, he is criticizing the government. He is criticizing the health department, what he did he do when he was the health minister?"

He also said that people are saying that as the speaker was not given ministerial position, hence he(speaker) is talking against the government.

Poojary added "You have got the position above the position of chief minister. You should respect the position and duty of speaker. If cannot, then you should resign."

Poojary calling the Sangha Parivar and BJP 'sowing communal hatred throughout the country' also added "They are functioning as if minorities should be the slaves of Hindus."

Commenting on Modi's admnistration Poojary said "There is a confusion regarding administration as to is it done from Delhi or by Mohan Baghawath from Nagpur. Though the MPs like Sakshi Maharaj, Yogi Adhithyanand give controversial statement, Modi is silent."

On commenting on BJP National President Amith Sha's statement of 'Congress free Karnataka' he said " What people will call me if I say that I want BJP free Karnataka? People may term me as insane.".

Commenting for Congress forming the Bharathiya Hindhu Parishad in Congress, Poojary said "If we do it in Congress,then it is like as we(Congress) are committing suicide. Has the person who wants to form this taken permission from AICC?"

Poojary said those who are in Congress party are not anti-Hindus.
