Mangaluru, Dec 20: Mangaluru's keenly awaited mega educational mega fair 'Career Utsav 2014', organized by Fuel Media Solutions Pvt Ltd, was inaugurated on Saturday December 20 at TMA PAI Convention Hall here.

The two-day fair has received overwhelming response from students as well as parents who thronged to explore the opportunities and scope in various career options available.

The event was inaugurated by Varun Melanta, director of MVJ College of Engineering by lighting the lamp with other dignitaries on the dias.

Addressing the gathering, Pradeep Naik, founder and CEO of Fuel Media Solutions Pvt Ltd said, "This is the number one Career Utsav of Mangaluru. For the first time, Career Utsav has come to Mangaluru. From the past three years we have successfully organized this event at Bengaluru. When I went to school I never had the opportunity to go for career guidance programme; we had to listen to our parents. Each one sitting here has to follow your heart; don't take any job just because of peer pressure. I wish all to have a bright career ahead."

Sripal Jain, founder and CEO of K2 Learning said, "Do not spend time going after what the world wants, instead just do what you love to do. A person is happy only when he does the work he loves. We have various brands and institutions on board with us under one roof to give the parents and the students more options to choose from. We have 12 different seminars in two days. You have to decide what you want to become in life or others will decide it for you. So use this opportunity to your maximum and choose the right career."

Addressing the gathering Varun Melanta said, "I feel happy to see so many students take the time to come from various parts of Mangaluru. It is important to choose the right career path. Students instead of focusing on short term goals and regretting later, should plan and choose the career you love; talk and discuss with parents what you want to become in future. Get out of your comfort zone and work hard towards honing your skills. Time is precious, I have met many students who took the wrong subject and lost interest in going further. You are lucky and previleged to be part of this career guidance programme and have so many career options."

Twelve detailed workshops and seminars are being conducted over the course of two days on topics such as 'New age engineering', 'Medicine in 21st century', 'All about overseas education', 'New age engineering careers and many more.
Participants in the event include big institutions and organisations such as MVJ College of Engineering, PES University, SRM University, Oxford Group of Institutions, REVA University, Alliance University, Ramaiah Institutions, AIMS, DSK International School of Design, Sambhram Group, Don Bosco, IES, SBI, and TVS.

State Bank of India is supporting the event by providing information and various options on education loans for students.

The highlights of this year’s Career Utsav include mock CET, psychometric tests, free counseling, various scholarship tests etc.

The youth also will get to witness 3D dirt biking experience which will be showcased first time in Karnataka.

The organizers will distribute over 10,000 career guidance books to plus-2 students of above 75 schools and colleges who are attending the education fair.

This shows failure of governments to provide employment to the people. All projects and employment generation are Bangalore centric. No employment generation in and around Managalore.
