Beltangady: Stepfather arrested for raping two minor girls

Beltangady, Dec 9: In an inhuman and shocking incident, a stepfather has been arrested by police for raping two minor girls.

The arrested person is Raja (38), a resident of a village near Dharmasthala.

The police have arrested the accused based on the complaint filed by the mother of the victims.

It is said that the alleged rape incidents had taken place several times repeatedly in the past six months. As per the complaint, the accused had threatened the two girls with dire consequences, if the matter was revealed to anyone.

The police have booked the person under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) of 2012.

    Because some crimes are made by individual to his own kith and kin. Few crimes are made by a person to the same community. Few of those crimes made by a individual or group to other community due to intolerance. Some of those politically motivated disturbs the society which includes riots, communal clash, property damage etc.

    Our govt should pass the rule of death sentence for rapists otherwise I dont think such crimes will come under control
    And blaming any political party is of no use
    Follow the rule like saudi arabia in this case (rape case)

    Our legal system has completely failed to deter the rapists.
    Will public castration or clinical destruction of libido stop this heinous crime?
    Indians have to hang their head in shame when we encounter a foreigner discussing these things.

    All our elected leaders whether they sit in central or in state are responsible for the crimes happening in my state and should take necessary action to curb the same. If Mr. George as a Home Minister is not responsible for the crimes happening in Karnataka, then he better to quit and sit in the house.

    Mr. Suleman, have some guts to condemn the crimes irrespective of political line and ideology.

    After reading about the rape of two minor girls I was shocked and up to now I have no explanation that a 38 year old guy is able to do that. Rape destroys the life of every girl, women and the victims suffer from heavy psychological disorders and traumas. Leading a relatively normal life is practically impossible. This guy will be brought to court and will be sentenced for the committed crime. The police have arrested the accused based on the complaint filed by the mother of the victims. I do not know if a medical examination of the two minor girls took place. Here in Germany rape victims get immediately psychological and psychiatric help and trauma therapies are offered. But it takes a long time, till a therapy really works and a rape victim is able to overcome the terrible incident. Very often therapies do not work and victims suffer from abuse and rape their whole lives. I do not know whether help is immediately offered in India. These two minor girls need advice, guidance and help. Abuse and rape take place in Germany too there is no doubt, but during the last two years German magazines and newspapers have been reporting on abuse and rape of women in India regularly and there are lots of western women who are afraid to travel to India. Women need protection and India´s government should implement initiatives and laws that help to protect minors and women better.

    Once a rapist, always a rapist. I recall some readers here were against stringent punishment to rapist and argued they can be reformed. Impossible ! See the cab driver in Delhi.

    He was sentenced in 2011 & 2013 for similar crimes, served jail term and again in 2014 he committed same crime. How can reform be expected from such anti-social elements ?

    I see these type of incidents happen quite often with stepfathers ...dont know why...why cant step daughters be treated as daughters...perhaps mothers are subservant or fearful to report the incidents here,,,thus causing more damage...

As a adult he has to protect them not destroy them.over that he threatens to do more harm.we cant say whether he had his quota or not.There are men who make use of all possible to have from all sides.and this man belongs definately to this category.He Looks bit alcohol addict.such men marry a woman with small Girls.because they are sharp of minor Girls.He should get utmost punishment.(Is he from a particular Outfit Party)?Horrible animal.

    Very few cases like this are reported....mothers should take care and cautious before they re marry...there are many wolves in sheeps clothes in our society...

    I feel most women either overlook these types of attrocities for fear of bad publicity or dont make efforts to know the truth...

    Its sad to see these types of attrocitities happening and bobody caring to protect these innocent young girls... especially if these attrocities are commited by rich and poweful...most of the time only poor and weak are caught , prosecuted and punished....
