Mangaluru, Dec 5: A person who allegedly had opened a fake Facebook account in the name of Mahesh, and had been projecting himself as a Hindu activist by wearing saffron shawl and thread in the wrist, was handed over by some activists of an organization to Moodbidri police on Thursday December 4.
It is said that he had been making efforts to impress girls with a fake name and acted like being love with them.
The person stated above, whose original name is Imthiyaz and works as an electrician, claimed that he was a DJ operator. He even had visiting cards made in the concealed identity of Mahesh, and had been trying to strike relationship with girls by initially offering this visiting card to them, it is said.
It is gathered that he even had opened Facebook account with the assumed name, 'Mahesh' with his own photograph. There are suspicions that several girls would have fallen to his tricks and fake appearance.
A girl recently complained to activists of an organization, having been unable to withstand this person's pestering. When these workers made enquiries, they came to know that his real identity is Imthiyaz. They somehow invited him to a spot after which he was handed over to police.
It is said that once earlier too he had opened a fake Facebook account and tried to deceive people, and had been advised by locals to mend his ways.
It was later learnt that no case was registered as both parties agreed to compromise and settle the matter.
