Kundapur, Dec 3: A huge protest was held on Wednesday December 3 in Gangolli demanding the arrest of the culprits responsible for the fire in Jamiya complex last Friday. The protest was jointly organized by Muslimeen Wakf and other Muslim organizations.

The protesters said that police have failed to take action and arrest the culprits in spite of knowing about their role in the fire, and thereby meted out injustice to the Muslim community.

"If the police fail to take the required action in the next 24 hours, we will gherao the police station and protest in a bigger way tomorrow," they warned. They also demanded a written assurance from the police to the Jamath leaders that the culprits would be arrested within the next 24 hours.

They also cautioned that if such incidents repeat in future or if any injustice is shown to the Muslim community in dealing with the case, the protest would be intensified further.

Women and youth also participated in the protest rally which started from the Jamiya complex. They shouted slogans demanding justice.

Kundapur assistant commissioner Charulatha Somal, Tahasildar Gayathri Nayak and Kundapur circle inspector Divakar P M spoke to the protesters.

Assistant commissioner received the petition from the protesters with a promise of prompt action.

Byndoor circle inspector Sudarshan, Brahmavar circle Inspector Arun Nayak and DCIB inspector Jayashankar with other police personnel were present to ensure that no untoward incident took place.

Why these things happening because always justice is delayed and also denied to minorities. Start treating equally irrespective of religion and caste then these culprits dare not to do these things.

wah re wah....chor ulta kotwal ko dante..

protestors are demanding justice as they are at loss..why this much bias n venom against muslims... if such incidents go unchecked...I m sure there shall be blood bath in every street n violence will be routine...to check n contain police n army would be insufficient..injustice n oppression results in deficit in faith in the national institutions n people will take laws into their hands n in the process people of ur mindset shall be traced n hunted down....for peace n prosperity social justice is a must..
