Niagara Falls (Canada), Dec 3 (IANS): India suffered their second defeat in two days, losing to fifth seed France in the WSF World women's team squash championship here Tuesday.
France defeated India 3-0 in the Group D match to keep their hopes alive of progressing whereas India, who had lost to Hong Kong in their opening tie, need to win one of their next set of matches against Austria and South Africa to stay in the race for a 9-13 position.
It was another bleak show from the Indians. Anaka Alankamony started aggressively against World No.40 Coline Aumard, but could not cope with the pressure as the contest wore on. Mistakes crept in and the French player wrapped it up easily.
Joshna Chinappa failed to inspire against World No.6 Camille Serme and that decided the tie. Newcomer Sachika Ingle gave a good account of herself, according to Maj S Maniam, who is with the team, but lost to Cyrielle Peltier.
