Pele remains in hospital in stable condition

Rio de Janeiro, Nov 27 (IANS): Brazil football legend Pele remains in hospital as he receives ongoing treatment for a urinary tract infection.

The 74-year-old is being treated with intravenous antibiotics and is in a stable condition, Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein Hospital said in a statement Wednesday, reports Xinhua.

There was no information on when the three-time World Cup winner would be discharged.

Pele left the same hospital Nov 13 after undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones.

The former Selecao No.10 has suffered a long list of health problems in the past decade, including emergency eye surgery for a detached retina and a hip replacement.
