World Snooker inaugurated


Bengaluru, Nov 18 (IANS): The IBSF World Snooker Championship was inaugurated here Tuesday with Karnataka Sports Minister Abhayachandra Jain doing the honours at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium. The matches commence Wednesday.

Among the audience were 225 players representing 50 countries, besides International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) president Jim Lacey, Karnataka Olympic Association president K. Govindaraj and BSFI chief Capt. P.V.K. Mohan.

The inauguration function was followed by a cultural programme highlighting local traditions.
