NEW YORK, Nov 3: American carrier Delta Air Lines has launched a non-stop flight connecting New York and Mumbai with officials expressing confidence that it would prove popular with tourists and business people.

Delta has entered into an arrangement with Indian carrier Kingfisher under which the latter would provide connections to Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Ahmedabad within two hours of the arrival of the flight in Mumbai and other destination would be added later.

The first flight to Mumbai flew out of here on Wednesday night.

Delta officials said 70 per cent of food provided would be ethnic Indian and will include vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options.

Each flight will be staffed by at least four Hindi-speaking flight attendants and in-flight entertainment will include Hindi and English movies.
