Udupi, Nov 3: 11th Konkani Singing competition was held in St John The Evangelist Church Pangala, Shankarpura by ICYM Shankarpura.

Inaugural Ceremony was headed by Dr Leslie D’Souza Parish priest St John the Evangelist Church, Shankarpura. ICYM Shankarpura Animator Clara Mendonca, Superior  Jaya Sacred heart Convent Shankarpura,  Mark Vaz Parish council Vice President Shankarpura, Simmy D’souza Secretary Parish Council and  Vincent Coelho Principal St, John PU College Shankarpura.

Speaking on the occasion Fr Leslie D’Souza appreciated the participants for being on time. "We have invited judges from the far off places only for unbiased judgment. " He also said to cheer all the participants.


































































 

 The judges for the event were Anil Patrao Derebail, Ivy D’Souza Kulshekar and Sachin Sequeria Gurpur. Competition were conducted under following catagories; Under 15 years solo girls & boys and group singing, Above 15 Solo Men & Women , Duet & group.

Valedictory Function was headed by Vicar General Msgr Baptist Menezes ,  Edwin D’Souza ,Commission for youth Director of ICYM Udupi diocese,  Vincent Covelo , Principal of St John PU College ,  Leslie D’Souza , Animator Clara Mendonca , Parish council Vice President Mark Vaz, Secretary Shimmy D’Souza and the Judges.

Msgr Baptist Menezes appreciated ICYM Shankarpura Unit and Parish priest  Leslie D’souza for their hard work and also he congratulated the participants.

A brief introduction about judges was given by Anil D’Sa. President Of ICYM Shankarpura Chris D’Mello welcomed the Gathering, Vote of Thanks was proposed by ICYM Shankarpura Secretary Jeshna D’sa , Winners List was announced by Dynon Martis, Names of the participants was read out by Dynon Martis , Hazel D’Souza and Joyce Martis. Programme was compeered by Riya D’Souza.

Overall The Programme was grand success with a crowd of 600 people.
