Mangalore, Oct 24 : “October 31 is the deadline for receiving entries for Redrocks sponsored daijiworld weekly children’s contest and there is no possibility that we extend it” – said Hemacharya, editor in chief of daijiworld English weekly, speaking to the press recently. He was responding to the request of overseas readers requesting extension of last date to submit the nominations.
“The children’s photo contest has evoked response not only within India but also from worldwide, hence it’s important we respond to their concern” – he said.
The Mangalore based well-known real estate Redrocks Group has sponsored the contest with Rs 56,000 worth prizes in two categories for the children between 0 – 2 and 2 – 5 years as of November 14, 2014. While the best three photos in each category will take home Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3000 each, 20 children will be given consolation prizes worth Rs 1000 each.
Ravi Posavanike, Grace Noronha, Daya Kukkaje
The panel of adjudicators include well-known photo journalists, Times of India’s Ravi Posavanike, daijiworld’s Daya Kukkaje and St Aloysius Gonzaga School principal Grace Noronha.
The prize distribution ceremony will be held on November 14, 2014 during the children’s day celebration at St Aloysius Gonzaga School in Mangalore.
The contest is open for all children across the world irrespective of region, religion, caste, community or language. The contest will be held in two categories - for ages between 0 - 2 and 2 - 5 (as of November 14, 2014).
A single best photo, 6 x 4 in size should be sent to Daijiworld corporate office by mail along-with a copy of birth certificate to show the date of birth, name of parents and other relevant details. Each entry must accompany an original entry coupon published in 'Daijiworld Weekly', signed by the parents or their representatives. Each entry must have the address and contact number of the participant without fail. The receipt of each entry will be acknowledged by the weekly office to the email/postal address.
The results will be published in website, www.daijiworld.com, daijiworld 247 TV and in Daijiworld Weekly Children's Day special edition, November 21, 2014. (available in market on Nov 14)
