Kundapur, Oct 16: Assistant public prosecutor, Ida Govindam, has filed a complaint in the police station here, against one of the judges of the courts here. The complaint, which alleges that the judge in question had slighted the caste to which Ida belongs, was registered on Wednesday October 15.
The complainant has named judge of the junior magistrate (first class) court here, Shivabeeraiah S M, as the accused. She said when she was discharging duties at the said court on October 10, during examination of witnesses, she had requested the judge for marking of the documents produced as exhibits. 'The judge, in response to my suggestion, questioned me under which judicial procedures, marking of exhibits has been stipulated. In the presence of advocates, petitioners, witnesses and policemen, he talked derisively about me, accusing me of reporting for duty without getting proper training, and questioned me who chose me for the job. He also remarked that having been selected from the quota meant for scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, I do not know proper way of working, and chided me for coming to work without learning anything, and spoke ill of the caste to which I belong. He also asked me to seek an apology failing which he threatened of filing contempt of court case against me. He also issued me a show cause notice on October 13, and restrained me to remain inside the court till 6.45 pm, after which I was allowed to leave. Through these acts, he has inflicted mental agony to me,' she stated in the complaint.
The policemen, who have registered the case, have begun investigation.
