Udupi, Oct 12: Sheikh Mohammed Yusuf (38) a wanted inter-state fraudster was nabbed by Kaup police here on Sunday, October 12.

Sheikh Mohammed Yusuf (38) is a resident of Ucchil fish market.

It is alleged that he was involved in many fraud cases in Mumbai, Shimoga and southern coastal areas of Karnataka.

It is said that he used to work as a driver in companies in various states, and whenever he got a chance to transport goods and cash, he used to always escape with them.

He is accused of stealing Rs 1.15 lac when he was a driver of Innova car at Shivaji Park Mumbai. He has also allegedly cheated Mohammad Ashfaque of Dodda Pete Shimoga of Rs 2.31 lac. Abko Silk company has registered a case against him for cheating to the tune of Rs 50,000. Manjunath Roadlines has also filed a case against him for cheating it of Rs 66,000. There are many more similar cases filed against him.

He was arrested and kept in the custody of Shirva police station and has been handed over to Shimoga police for further inquiry.
