Russia's Denis Abliazin wins floor final at gymnastics worlds


Nanning (China), Oct 11 (IANS): Russia's Denis Abliazin claimed his first major title as he scored 15.750 points to top the men's floor exercise final at the world gymnastics championships here Saturday.

Defending champion Kenzo Shirai from Japan had to settle for silver with 15.733 points, 0.033 over third-placed Diego Hypolito of Brazil, reports Xinhua.

Shirai performed a more difficult routine but Abliazin exceeded him in execution.
