New Delhi, Oct 10 (IANS): Goalkeeper Nidhin Lal and midfielder John Coutinho Friday penned contract extensions with I-League club Mumbai FC.
Coutinho started his career with Mumbai FC youth team and managed to quickly climb up the ladder and make his mark in the senior team as well.
"Mumbai FC is very close to my heart. The club has become my family and I am really happy to extend my contract here," said Coutinho.
The 25-year-old has been a part of Mumbai FC since 2008 and made his mark with the senior team in the 2011-12 season.
Nidhin Lal, who has been with Mumbai FC since 2011, previously played for Pune FC and Indian Bank. He was also part of the Kerela team who finished third in the Santosh Trophy in 2012.
"It’s been a great time at Mumbai FC. I see us having a very good season ahead. I have been here for a few years and it’s been a great learning experience under Khalid Jamil and Henry Picardo," he said.
"We have done some good business already this season but it’s also important to retain players that we already had last season. John and Nidhin have been a part of the squad for a few years now. It’s good to have them in our squad," Mumbai FC head coach Khalid Jamil said.
