Kundapur: Gold worth lacs looted from jeweller near Byndoor

Kundapur, Oct 8: Robbers looted gold worth more than Rs 25 lacs from a jeweller in Uppunda Ambagilu near Byndoor late night on Tuesday October 7.

A gang of five robbers stopped Sudheendra Shet, a local jeweller from Mahalasa jewellers when he was on his way home with his children after closing his shop. As usual he carried cash and jewellery with him. When the jeweller protested, he was stabbed on his neck. The robbers ran away with gold weighing around one kilogram. Cash was also said to be part of the loot; the amount is not known yet.

Sudheendra Shet has been admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur. Byndoor police, after visiting the crime scene have registered a case.
